SPE-UTP-SC stands for Society of Petroleum Engineers of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Student Chapter. SPE-UTP-SC is affiliated to the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International which currently has 131 student chapters in 42 countries world-wide.
SPE-UTP-SC was established in June 2004 by several passionate students and petroleum engineering lecturers. Currently, it has 350 members and its membership is open to all students regardless of the course they pursue.

Since 2005, numerous activities associated with oil and gas industry have been carried out successfully e.g. career talks, technical talks, visit to plants and oil and gas symposium. In year 2007, SPE-UTP-SC has been given the green light to organize its first ever SPE-UTP Oil and Gas Symposium 2007 (OGS). The OGS 2007 had marked another great achievement in the SPE-UTP-SC’s milestone.
