INTRODUCTION

PetroSmart Quiz Competition is a fast-paced quiz-style competition that covers the technical and non-technical aspects of the oil and gas industry through rapid fire questions. This competition is open to all full-time studying undergraduate and postgraduate students of all engineering courses. This competition also serves as a platform for students to enhance their knowledge on technical and non-technical aspects related to oil and gas industry as well as to test their understanding towards these aspects. The champions of PetroSmart Quiz Competition will be chosen as UTP representatives for the SPE PetroBowl Competition Asian Pacific Regional Qualifier.

OBJECTIVE

To enrich and expand the knowledge of the students regarding the technical and non-technical aspects of oil and gas industry.
To create an environment of healthy teamwork, cooperation, competition and knowledge sharing.
As one of the active learning methods and a fun way to enhance interest and motivation for students in learning more about the aspects related to oil and gas industry.
To enhance students’ participation and increase their competitiveness towards internal or external competitions.
As a preparation for the students both mentally and academically before representing UTP in external competitions.
To select the best candidates as UTP representatives for upcoming external competition, SPE PetroBowl Competition Asian Pacific Regional Qualifier.
